The Kodungaiyur and Perungudi dumping yards in Chennai will be equipped with modern facilities to manufacture compost, fuel pellets and electricity from solid waste. The Chennai Corporation will take up the solid waste management project at a cost of Rs. 400 crore funded through the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, City Mayor M. Subramanian told.
