The Kurichu Hydroelectric Project in Gyelpozhing, Mongar (Bhutan) is on schedule to be commissioned by September, 2000. An immediate target is to finish concreting the dam and power house up to be river bed level before the monsoon to avoid flooding. The Project is being executed on the turn key basis by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation of India with consultancy by Water and Power Consultancy Services, India.
