The temple tank in the heart of Virudhunagar town in Tamil Nadu which had been rendered dry by drought is now brimming with water, thanks to rain water harvesting units in the area. Virudhunagar is a drought prone district, without any perennial river to supply water to the people in the region. The district receives only erratic and scanty rainfall.
