Various panchayat groups today held meetings in different parts of the city, opposing the recent High Court's order that the building bylaws are also applicable to Lal Dora areas and that the MCD should demolish unauthorised constructions in these areas. At a meeting of south Delhi villages, attended by representatives from Shahpur Jatt, Hauz Khas, Hiyaun Pur, Lado Sarai, Kalu Sarai, Munirka, Ber Sarai and Katwaria Sarai, representatives said that while they were against commercial activity in Lal Dora areas, the MCD should spare small cottage industries in village interiors.
