SAIL lab studying Delhi air pollution

The environmental laboratory of the Steel Authority of India Limited in association with the Central Pollution Control Board is conducting pollution tests in the city. The Ranchi-based research and Development Centre for Iron and Steel research laboratory has provided the pollution board with 65 testing kits to evaluate the levels of benzene, toluene and xylene in the ambient air of the city following the introduction of unleaded petrol in the city.The SAIL laboratory has recently been granted recognition as an environmental laboratory under Section 12(1)B of the Environment(Protection) Act, 1986 by the CPCB.
