Hebri is a fast growing town in Udupi district of Karnataka and has all the credentials to be a taluk headquarters. Though the forests of Jomlutheertha in Nalkur village is dense, sandalwood trees are finding it very difficult to survive here with them caught in the clutches of sandalwood smugglers.
