The three-member team led by Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz returned to Delhi after reviewing the rehabilitation of the people affected by the Sardar Sarovar Project and met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The team has submitted a report to the PM on the rehabilitation work. The other members of the team were Union ministers Meira Kumar and Prithviraj Chavan. The Union Cabinet had last week decided to despatch the team to the site after Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader Medha Patkar went on an indefinite fast demanding complete rehabilitation of the families affected by the project and immediately halting construction work at the dam.
