A new World Atlas of Biodiversity: Earth's Living Resources for the 21st Century has pointed out that plants were disappearing fast and warned that vanishing plants cost humans one major drug every two years. The Atlas, released by the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Center (UNEP - WCMC), is the first comprehensive map-based view of global biodiversity, showing how humanbeing is dependent on healthy ecosystems for al its needs.
