The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to extend the November 15 deadline for phasing out more than 17-yr-old commercial vehicles plying in the Capital. Rejecting the Delhi government's plea for extension of the deadline, the court asked it to implement the court order which has also banned plying of more than 15-yr-old vehicles by the end of this year. A Bench of Chief Justice A S Anand, Justice B N Kirpal and Justice V N Khare said , "When it is in the interest of the public, we do not think we can be lax."
