While refusing to stay the MCD drive to seal illegal commercial complexes in residential areas in the Capital, the Supreme Court today relaxed the deadline for filing of affidavits by the traders for voluntary closure of their ventures by June 30. The deadline of filing the affidavit, which had expired on March 28, was extended up to April 7 by a Bench of Chief Justice Y. K. Sabharwal and Mr Justice C. K. Thakker in view of a large number of traders moving applications seeking time to close their ventures themselves instead of being sealed by the civic body.
