The Surpeme Court has refused to extend the deadline for phasing out 15-yr-old commercial vehicles beyond October 2. Rejecting the Delhi government's offer to scrap commercial carriers of more than 12-year vintage provided the deadline was extended to March 31, 1999, the apex court on Thursday reiterated that such vehicles be rendered imoperative in the Capital from October 2.
