The Supreme Court judgement on the phasing out of commercial vehicles older than 15 years is a victory for the anti-pollution lobby in the Capital. It has nevertheless come as a shock to owners of the commercial vehicles, who believed that the worst was over for them when the Delhi Government had relaxed the ban. Autorickshaw and taxi drivers, apprehensive about their livelihood, felt they were unnecessarily being held responsible for vehicular pollution.
