Taking a stern view of the unchecked commercial exploitation of residential areas in Delhi in violation of the Master Plan, the Supreme court asked the MCD to provide a zone-wise list of areas where such violation was rampant. The direction came from a bench headed by Chief Justice Y.K. Sabharwal, which was hearing a petition filed by activist M.C. Mehta. Giving the MCD time to supply the information, the court said it will pass requisite orders after perusing the list.
