Let parks be parks in Delhi's concrete jungle and not be used for hosting marriage functions and Ram Lila celebrations. This clear signal emerged from the Supreme Court. A group of citizens, through counsel S Muralidhar, pointed out that almost 10 years back, on December 6, 1996, the court had directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to phase out use of parks for marriages and religious purposes by constructing adequate community halls. It asked DDA and MCD to file affidavits within four weeks detailing the action it had taken against those who have spoiled the parks after holding functions and
