The Supreme Court stayed the Delhi High Court's February 24 order shutting down the petrol pump near the Akshardham flyover. The HC had observed that the presence of the pump at that spot was hindering the smooth flow of traffic along the flyover's cloverleaf. A division bench of Justice Ruma Pal and Justice Dalveer Bhandari passed the interim order. The matter is now likely to come up for hearing on March 20. The pump was caught in the eye of a storm following allegations that the radius of the cloverleaf had been reduced to save it. Had the original plan been implemented, the pump would have had to make way, it was alleged.
