The Supreme Court has set aside a Karnataka High Court order releasing a vehicle from the custody of the Forest Department and said the High Court's impugned order is contrary to law and that the High Court had adopted a very casual approach while disposing of the vehicle owner's petition. In 1997, the forest officials had seized the vehicle carrying logs in violation of the Karnataka Forest Act.
