The Supreme Court today took serious view of the media reports about leakage being found in some CNG buses in the national Capital and sought a report from the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA)."It is a serious matter. Some body has to go into it, if the media reports are correct,' a Bench of Mr Justice Y. K. Sabharwal, Mr Justice Arijit Pasayat and Mr Justice S. H. Kapadia said. "EPCA is directed to look into the concern expressed in recent media report about leakage of gas in buses and some other related safety issues,' the Court in its order said, directing the Authority to submit its report within four weeks. The Court further clarified that the report should deal with safety aspects in buses and three-wheelers running on the CNG separately, considering the fact that they were the backbone of public transport in the Capital.
