Three middle level officials of the Mizoram environment and Forest Department have been indicted by a Supreme Court appointed special investigating team (SIT) in two separate instances of non compliance with the various orders of the Apex Court's rulings and order on the ban on timber trade. "High level Government sources said that since the matter is linked to the sensitive timber ban case the three officials may even face suspension unless they come up with plausible explanations for their actions. The answers should satisfy the HPC and the Supreme Court and not only us," the Forest Minister, Lalchamliana told.
