Scientists at the University of Madras have prepared nanocrystals, crystals as tiny as one billionth of a metre, that are one of the frontier areas of worldwide research. A team headed by S Ramasamy prepared crystals about 10 nanometres in size of several materials that include zinc oxide, zirconia, barium titanate and lead zirconia titanate under a project headed by the Department of Science and Technology.
