It is now the turn of tree plantation companies after non banking finance companies (NBFCs) to feel the hear in anticipation of stringent SEBI guidelines designed to purge malpractices in the sector. A shakeout is now expected in tree plantation investment companies which have bloated to become a Rs 10,000 crore industry, comprising of players of all sizes- a majority of which have dubious track records.
