Forest conservation and research are facing serious setbacks due to security reasons, which has forced forest offices at the grass-root level to close. According to the Department of Forest (DoF), the department responsible for implementing forest conservation programmes,many grass root level offices like the area forest offices and range posts have been destroyed by the Maoists.
