Nineteen snakes, including 10 pythons, six sand boas and three cobras which were seized from four men belonging to a tribe of snake trappers from Punjab and taken into the custody of the Chief wildlife Warden three days ago, have mysteriously disapeared, much to the consternation of animal-lovers engaged in fighting wildlife crimes in the Capital. The court on Sunday allowed the four to be released on bail, and ordered that the snakes be released into their natural habitat. The snakes disappeared on Monday, causing Mr Karthik to suspect foul play.
