Even as World AIDS Day comes up on December 1, a host of corporates, government organisations and NGOs across India have been working to create awareness and reduce misconceptions about HIV/AIDS. While the BBC World Service Trust (BBC WST) recently won a UNICEF award for its media series on the subject, MTV India held a concert in support of AIDS victims. Haath Se Haath Milaa, produced from New Delhi by the BBC WST along with Prasar Bharati and the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), won the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association/ UNICEF Award for Outstanding Local Children's Broadcasting. A second series of 26 episodes is currently under production.
