Newly appointed minister of state for urban development Ajay Maken feels that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which was mainly established to regularise land price in the capital, is being involved in too many other purposes. Mr Maken is of the view that planning, regularisation, auction of land and construction are different issues and that there should be individual agencies looking after each issue and not just the DDA. . He said that the Delhi Development Authority should provide such houses, which can curb illegal construction in the city. Mr Maken, a Delhiite, is of the view that the court's direction to demolish the unauthorised structures in the capital has given an opportunity to agencies concerned to protect the city. "We should work on a long term solution for the ongoing demoli tion issue.
