April 30: Counsel for civil society organisation Gene Campaign, Mr Sanjay Parikh, on Thursday submitted to the Supreme Court that an expert committee be set up to examine the legal framework governing the research and use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in the country with a specific terms of reference. The Supreme court has taken note on record and has asked the Central government to file its response on the issue.
