A severe cyclonic storm hit Badarpur at midnight on Friday. The storm damaged a large numbers of houses, trees, electric posts, telephone wires etc in the town and adjacent villages. As a result, entire Badarpur circle has been badly affected with the entire town still under complete darkness. The condition of drinking water of PHE department and telephonic communication has also been affected, although the engineers and employees of PHE and ASEB are undertaking repair works in full swing. No casualty was reported in this cyclonic storm, said Government sources.
