The Planning Commission has approved Rs 5,100 crore for Delhi's plan outlay for the year 2005-06. This, however, doesn't contain allocations for the power sector, and is expected to spur infrastructure development ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2010. Of the Rs 5,100 crore, 90 per cent will be financed through internal resources such as collection of sales and excise tax as the Capital has a consistent revenue surplus. The remaining 10 per cent will come through Central assistance.
