Even as life is limping back to normalcy in the state capital, most parts of the town did not receive water supply for the fourth consecutive day today as there could be no pumping due to high silt levels.
Although there has been some respite from rain, the residents continued to face water crisis. The areas fed by the Ashwani Khud station are the worst hit. These include Broke Hurst, Vikasnagar, New Shimla, Khalini and Panthaghatti.
Deputy mayor Harish Janartha said the position was likely to improve in a day or two as four of the five pumps at the Gumma waterworks had been started.
