No BOT Venture Awarded In 6 Months, Deadlines Extended Has economic meltdown hit the infrastructure sector in the country? Seems likely since in the last six months, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has failed to award a single BOT project. Bidding deadlines for all major projects, including Kundli- Palwal-Manesar expressway and six laning of Delhi-Agra section of NH-2, have been extended due to lukewarm response from bidders. In many cases there has been only one bidder. Bugged by its failure, the ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH) now claims to complete all bidding process of the pending projects by the year end. MoRTH secretary Brahm Dutt told TOI that all pending NHAI projects would be awarded by the end of this month and government would take a decision in next couple days on issues raised by bidders.
