There may soon be no such thing as a free lunch for slum dwellers any more. Realising that there is gross misuse of the free houses under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority, Mumbai housing department is proposing an amendment in the rules wherein slum dwellers will have to make a contribution for redevelopment of their shanties.
