The government is seriously shopping around for ways and means to precision target the mammoth Rs 25.160-crore targeted public distribution scheme (TPDS). Trimming the above poverty line (APL) consumer pie top down even while expanding the BPL pie is one of the ways that have been suggested. The suggestion is among those likely to be forwarded to the food ministers' meeting in October end.
