South Asian transport network in pipeline

A project to help strengthen the regional network of roads connecting Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and India is being planned, according to a statement. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is taking initiative for the completion of the project providing a technical grant assistance of US $ 800,000, the Nepal Tourism Board statement said. The planned project would develop further the West Bengal transport corridor, which runs from Haldia port off the Bay of Bengal to as far as the state of Assam, the statement said, quoting an ADB release.
