Geoscientists: The icy South Pole was once warm, with tropical rainforests, geoscientists said on Saturday on their return from a two-month trip aboard a drill ship, digging up dirt from beneath the ocean floor.During the ocean drilling programme the 30 scientists unearthed and studied an area of soil containing hidden information about land and ocean conditions over the past 70 million years.
