The APTDC is making efforts to encourage the large chunk of pilgrims bound for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam from Tamil Nadu to explore the other scenic locations in the state.

SABYASACHI Ghosh, director, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), during an interaction on the AP tourism roadshow here on Saturday, came out with a suggestion for a speciality southern quadrilateral similar to the golden triangle in the northern India.
He said the four southern states are well connected and accessible.
He wanted the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation to increase the number of bus and train facilities to Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh.
He added that the Southern Splendour, a luxury tourist train, on the lines of Palace on Wheels might be out soon.
Explaining the heritage, culture and development of AP , he said that the state carried the potential of a one stop shop and tourist destination for all.
"There is also a proposal to make all the bars in five star hotels 24/7, of course with government approval.
Very soon, there is a possibility of a huge mythological complex coming up near Chittoor and Tirupati.

He also urged the travel and tour operators to come up with favourable and interesting packages.
The APTDC has an annual financial budget of Rs 67 crore. It has also invested Rs 75 crore to augment the tourism industry.
Sabyasachi said that the priority of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation APTDC presently was to make arrangements for convenient facilities in the tourist spots.
"The APTDC has witnessed a steady inflow of tourists with about six lakh international tourists visiting the state. By remaining so, AP is the second most tourist visited state in the country after Uttar Pradesh,'he said.
