Chief Minister S M Krishna today instructed the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and the Bangalore Development Authority to alter building byelaws and make sapling-planting mandatory for all new buildings in the city to increase the greenery. The byelaws should be altered to ensure that space is earmarked by the property owner or builder to grow at least two trees in the site.
