Speed up land acquisition, officials told

Visakhapatnam July 17: The district collector, Mr Sanjay Kumar, told the officials to speed up the land acquisition procedures for various projects that are being coming up in the city. Talking to officials looking after the land acquisition for Brandix Apparel Park, BARC and Pharma City, here on Thursday, the district collector asked them also to speed up the rehabilitation process for those displaced due to the proposed projects. "All the rehabilitation colonies should have BT roads, Aanganwadi centres, schools and fair price shops,' he told the special grade deputy collectors, RDOs and tahsildars. He inquired about the extent of D-Patta lands acquired for the projects. The collector asked them to bring to his notice any problems faced by the officials during the land acquisition and asked the tahsildars to pay attention to the acquisition of land by the APIIC. "Tahsildars have to see that lands that are acquired are vacated by August 5,' he said. Special care should be taken while issuing Rehabilitation (R) Cards . "The R Cards should be made in such way to avoid any duplication,' he said and added that award proceedings should also be provided besides all the other details on the R Cards. The district joint collector, Mr K. Veerabrahamaiah, the special grade deputy collectors, Mr I. Eswara Rao, Mr N. Balaji Singh, the APIIC general manager, Mr Y. Narasimha Rao, the District Industries Centre, general manager, Mr L. Lakshman and Urban Land Ceiling (ULC), special officer, Ms P. Usha Rani, took part in the meeting.
