the Committee of secretaries (CoS) has cleared a proposal to set up a special purpose vehicle to mobilise additional resources for forest development in the country. The proposal is to ask industries setting up projects in forest areas to deposit a certain percentage of the project cost in a special fund to be created to finance the forest expansion programmes.
