Stakeholders to have greater say in managing forests

The second AP Forestry Project, funded by the World Bank, looks to revolutionising the management of forests and forest wealth in the Andhra Pradesh state with the government poised to give greater responsibility to local communities. The implementation of the Rs 650 crore project will start next month and benefit as many as 3.2 lakh poor families spread over 14 districts.
