State signs Aboriginal land deal

The Victorian Government has predicted that many indigenous land use agreements with Aborigines will be signed after the state's first non-mining deal was reached yesterday.The agreement follows a native title claim to the police station in the Wimmera town of Birchip.Attorney-General Rob Hulls has reached a deal with the Wotjobaluk and Dja Dja Wrung peoples over the land, considered an ancient Aboriginal gathering place.
