Chief Secretary Dr. A Ravindra today said that the Karnataka State Government will take up appropriate measures to promote sandalwood cultivation, including new schemes, as part of the rural development programmes. The State had already amended laws pertaining to growing sandalwood trees and had permitted private sector to enter sandalwood plantation for commercial purposes.
