In a controversial move that is bound to lead to exploitation, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hand over forest lands to industries on a platter. Government officials said because of the resource crunch, industries would be roped in for wasteland development to improve the green cover and benefit members of Vana Samrakshana Samitis under Joint Forest Management.
