Chief Minister S M Krishna said here today that an appeal would be filed before the Supreme Court seeking resurvey of the controversial Tatkol forest area. Speaking at a meeting of Tatkol forest land encroachers and affected people here, he said that the government would provide compensation to those affected by the court order within the framework of law. However, he said the court order was the final in this matter (with regard to vacating forest land). "The government will initiate necessary measures to rehabilitate affected people through the Shtree Shakti and Ashraya Scheme", Mr Krishna said.
