Most states are yet to capitalise on the centre's liberalised policy with regard to conversion of forest villages into revenue land, said Inspector General of Forests V Bahuguna. Speaking at a business meet on wind energy investments in Karnataka, he said that although provisions were made in the national policy more than two decades ago, only Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have taken advantage of the policy. MP has converted 311 forest villages into revenue ones and Maharashtra 73.
