Kerala has told the National Water Development Agency, which assists the Task Force On Interlinking of Rivers, that the river networking proposals should be approved and implemented only with the full consent and cooperation of the States involved and in as just and equitable a manner as possible. Explaining the State Government's position on river networking in the context of the NWDA proposal for linking two of Kerala's 44 rivers, Pamba and the Achenkoil, with Vyppar in Tamil Nadu, the State Water Resources Minister, Mr T.M. Jacob, told Business Line that the State did not have any surplus water to share with any of its neighbours.
