Stay order extended by 6 months

The Karnataka State government has extended the stay order issued by the previous deputy commissioner regarding the transfer of notified forest land to the forest department, by six months. Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister D B Chandr-egowda rev-ealed this to presspersons at the zilla panchayat auditorium here today. He said that the officials concerned had been instructed to survey the lands belonging to those who had sought regularisation and of those cultivating encroached lands, and submit the report by March 30.
