Storage of wheat at final stage in Hoshangabad

The work of storage of wheat procured under minimum support price scheme in the State has now reached in last phase. With maximum 7 lakh 31 thousand metric tonne procurement of wheat, Hoshangabad district is nearing the completion of task of storage of wheat in next couple of days. So far, a total 6 lakh 93 thousand metric tonne wheat has safely been stored in the godowns by using various means of transportation in this district. Remaining 38 thousand metric tonne wheat will be lifted from the centres and dispatched to various places fixed for storage.
The task of storage has been taken on war footing in Hoshangabad district and it will be completed within next two-three days. The officials of police, regional transport office and home guards have been asked for requisition of maximum number of trucks for avoiding delay in the process. Administrative teams have swung into action to transport remaining wheat in Seoni-Malwa and Sohagpur area. The transport facilities are being provided in these areas.
Action Against Erring Societies
The action is being taken on complaints received in this regard against the societies in the district for committing various irregularities. If needed, FIR will also be lodged. In Hoshangabad district, about 13 to 15 thousand metric tonne of wheat is being transported every day. Railway rakes are available at Seoni-Malwa for transportation of procured wheat. If necessary, another rakes will be stationed at Itarsi. The Collector has reprimanded the Mandi officials for not using rain-proof cover at some purchase centres and asked them to make immediate arrangements of tarpaulin for safe storage of wheat. In the district, a total 50 trucks would be put into operation for transportation of remaining wheat.
