The government's decision to have a high-level probe into the alleged presence of deadly pesticides in various brands of bottled drinking water may go some way to reassure consumers. It is unlikely, however, to dispel the destruct occasioned by the report of the Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) that all bottled drinking water, with exception of one international brand, contains pesticides much above the permissible level.
