To empower women, especially those belonging to weaker sections of the society, and to facilitate their participation in the national mainstream, the Delhi Government will be launching a "Stree Shakti" project under the Bhagidari scheme this coming Sunday. Under this project, intervention in health, literacy and income generation would be prioritised. The programme envisages an effective co-relation of the health and skill enhancement activities with employment and economic packages.
