Exports to Japan of some Chinese-made food items have come to a halt as Chinese inspectors are taking time to rigorously check product safety following the discovery of tainted meat dumplings in Japan, Japanese food processors said Thursday. Those companies said they are closely monitoring developments in China as sales could be adversely affected if there is a prolonged delay in shipments.
