The hue and cry over the reported environmental contamination and health problems that affected a large number of villagers of Padre in Kasargod, Kerala due to Arial spraying of endosulfan has been proved baseless, if the study of the expert committee appointed by the State Government is any indication, Pesticides Manufacturers and Formulators Association of India president Pradeep P Dave told media persons here today. Public attention was largely drawn to the reports of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) that indicated that many people in Padre suffer from cancer, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, skin lesions etc. due to aerial spraying of endosulfan over the cashew plantations in Padre.
